Hi Sonja, Can you please describe what energy work is? Some people here say they are healers, but it doesn’t seem like they do the same thing. I just don’t understand. Lois M. Turner, Maine,
Hi Lois, You asked a question about energy work, is also called Light Work. There are many different kinds. As you know, I work with Reiki. I first learned Therapeutic Touch in the 70’s. Regardless which systems a person uses, it’s still energy!.. ENERGY IS! The first work I did, had no name. As a child, I just “knew” where to put my hands, and people felt better. Many of us are born with this ability. But many are ridiculed or punished for doing or speaking in a way that is considered blasphemous. We hide it away and may never pick it up again. Many people who discovered this gift with themselves were are told they are nuts, working with evil spirits, or making it up.
When I was first in the nursing field, Therapeutic Touch was the HOT thing. It was being taught in all major hospitals. I was lucky to study under the developers, Dolores Krieger and Dora Kunz. Later Reiki was the rage. There are several kinds. Mostly from Japan, China and Polynesia. There are many methods around the world, especially in indigenous cultures that I am not familiar with. Often in older cultures, drumming, singing and chanting is part of the healing ceremony. Every one in the group take part. Can you imagan the power generated? We will take that up in another news letter. The actions may be different, but the process is always the same. I have studied Usui and Kruna Reiki and hold a Master Teacher certificate. In the Spiritualist Church, it was called “Hands on Healing,” or “The Healing Circle”. Years ago, Fuzz and I developed the Focused Healing Technique of Energy Balancing. It is a system of deep meditation without using symbols as a focus point. We found no difference in the outcome, although the process was never scientifically studied.
We realized over time, that all systems are basically the same. People were paying thousands of dollars to learn each one. The words and symbols associated with some of these techniques are often isolated into each category, depending where the teachings came from and the religious beliefs of each original teacher. Sometimes there is a juggle about which method is better. Personally, we both felt that this information should not be a money making endever. Yes, people should get pd. for their teaching times and expenses. But Thousands of dollars is way off the beam. Reasonable offerings should prevail.
Energy IS. It is all around us, in us, part of us, it is the vibration of our Universe,. It is what the Universe IS. The beginning step is always the same, regardless of the method chosen. The practitioner should be calm and focused, and ask, ( According to their belief system. There are many different belief systems, but only one Creator. Work with in your belief) to be supported to bring the highest good to the person or situations they are working with. We do not ask to HEAL, because we have no idea why the person or situation is needing support. We have no idea of a persons life lessons. As “healers”, we are obligated to bring the highest energy we can and allow it to do it’s work. We do not heal. To be called a Healer is a misnomer. We can only ask for the Highest Good to become apparent and effect positive change, if that is what is called for. It is a joint effort. The person being worked on, ( In person or at a distance) must agree that this is acceptable and give the practitioner permission to do the work) . Or the practitioner will hit a blocked wall, the receiving persons energy will block any effort to change the situation. ( Some people feel they deserve what they get as part of what they believe about themselves in their core. ) If that is the case, an outside person will not be able to direct the Universal Energy to them in order to make a difference. We all have free will to believe what we wish, or to accept others help or not. We should never force ourself or our belief system on another. The next step, after you are calm and focused, is to breathe. We taught a 4-4 method of breathing in the beginning, and as the practitioner feels more comfortable we move into a 6-8 pattern, then an 8-10. Then we mentally vision our own energy becoming our calming color. Most people chose green or blue, some white. It’s individual. Vision the energy of the heavens and earth coming into to your body through your head and feet and allow yourself to feel the enormous love infused into the energy. Use your mind to move the feelings into your heart and hands, ( you may feel them warming or tingling) and put them where you are guided for as long as the energy is moving. ( This method can be used on yourself as well. You don’t need special training to to allow Spirit / God, to help you. You only need to ask. Some feel placing their own energized hands on themselves while visioning healing, works for them.) Ask your Spirit or God within to guide you in visioning what needs help and to help you relax and vision your own healing.) We can get more into this another time. I don’t know if this answers your question about healing energy. There are people who can send energy by focusing on someones picture. I do this often. The picture is only a focus point for the energy to move to. Energy moves by what many would consider Quantum Physics, but that is another class. People who may have been taught a particular path of hands on healing, may defend their position that they are doing it the RIGHT WAY! In reality it is all connected and is all one. We have One Creator and we all have been given the gift of helping another as well as ourselves, we just have never been taught…
We believe there is no difference in what happens when we are sending energy specifically, or when we are praying. Real prayer, is focused energy from and too our minds and hearts and the Universe, by what ever name we may each call that Infinite Power. It is a never ending circle. You can also see the connections in my book. Check it out and let me know what you think. I think you already know I offer private readings.
Thank you for for your question Lois. Feel free to comment.
Keep well, and go blow some bubbles! They help you breathe, relax, and giggle. You can not blow them without bringing a smile to your face or others!
