Rainbow Meditation

I’m closing our newsletters on Color Therapy with a Rainbow Meditation.

Meditation is a way of deep relaxation. If you are not a practitioner, this may take you a bit of time to get used to doing it.

Deep meditation is about learning to totally relax our physical body and our mind. Not to worry about anything and let ting go of all the mulliegrubs of the day. As we learn to calm our mind, our body will follow suite. In turn our inner body, the workings of everything that still works when we are not actually paying attention to what it’s doing, like moving blood pressure up or down, the niggling thought we had about so and so when they did this and that and it’s still whispering around unnoticed in the background. All that stuff that weighs heavy on us when we don’t think we are connecting with it. We are. It’s like an over lay of a gossamer sheet. We can see through it. It doesn’t really bother us much, but there it is playing out on another level, breeze hot or cold still blowing through, almost unnoticed, It’s just that darn bug that keeps getting on us as we notice, we just brush it way and keep on trucking and then wonder why we are so uncomfortable about “stuff”. As we learn how to meditate and trust it, we start to notice all these little underlining disruptions just start to fade, until one day we realize we feel as fine as a frog hair split 3 ways! We really feel good. Crap that is usually bugging us is just gone! Gone so gently we never noticed it left. We feel light! Like we could lift off and fly any moment! We are really, really alive and happy ! You know it’s all good. We have been given many gifts. Many of us do not know how to use them. Meditation can be life changing. But many of us have no clue how refreshing and life giving meditation is.

Step I. Find a quiet place where you can lay or sit and be comfortable and relaxed. If weather permits I like to meditate in my hammock, out side with the rustling leaves and birds. If you choose to listen to soft music, feel free. Some times I do and some times I don’t. When I do , I tend to listed to my own CD. Healing in the Light. You know what helps you relax. I generally lay down. Many sit up with their thumb and forefinger touching, the finger touching is believed to create a closed circuit for your energy to “run the circuit”.

This is your meditation, I am not telling you what to do. I am only sharing with works for me. There is so much information out there that you can research and try things to see what works for you, your beliefs and your personality.

Step 2. I start by taking a few deep breaths and let it out slowly. Some times I use a slow breath. Slow breath in, hold for a count of 4 and exhale for 4. a few times. This is also called square breathing.

Step 3. Then I vision energy at my feet moving up and smoothing its way up my body stopping at my root chakra. Just visioning it flowing smooth, peaceful and healthy,flowing up my body, I do the same with each chakra and color . The next is orange, I see this as an actual orange floating and healthy. Our solar plexus is yellow like the sun. I vision it radiating like the sun through and through. Heart,in the center of our chest, is green like the the green earth. Feel the vibrations change as you slide from one Chakra to the next. The next is blue at our throat. I vision my voice speaking only positive .I vision my voice come out in peace… how would that look to you? How would you see your voice and words as you would like them to be ? What would they look like coming out of your mouth? Our Third Eye is lavender. This is the place where our pinral gland sits. Between our eyes and center of our head. It’s job is to bring in and allow the light. It gives us clarity and connects to our spiritual self. That is why some faiths paint a red dot between their eyes, to remind them to always look for the LIGHT of truth and love, a gift from our Creator. It is considered the seat of knowledge and enlightenment. The LIGHT radiates and brings life and balance to all of our Charks. The top of the head is purple. One of the reasons kings and rulers of the past wore purple as the royal color.( at the time only rulers could wear purple) It was believed that Kings were touched by the Creator and were given special knowledge.

As you move from one chakra to the next, keeping your breath slow and your mind focused on peace and love with each color, you will feel your body and mind start to change. As you come out of your meditation you will feel calm, peaceful and loved. You can feel all the colors melding together into a WHITE LOVING LIGHT that fills you. It takes time. But we can all learn to connect with our inner self, as it becomes our outer self. It takes time, but when you get there you will KNOW.
